Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s wedding was the big news last week with speculation running wild, as expected.

The affair went off without a reported hitch and Amber Heard now holds the envious title of Mrs. Depp.

Or maybe not, depending how she feels about that last name thing.

Either way, new details began emerging this week about Amber Heard’s surprisingly simple and romantic beach wedding.

Amber Heard, 28, technically married Johnny Depp, 51, last Tuesday in a private ceremony in their Los Angeles home.

Then, a small group of family and friends joined them at Depp’s private island in the Bahamas for food, music, snorkeling, laying on the beach, and on Sunday, a small and elegant wedding ceremony on one of the island’s beaches.

“The weather was perfect and the beach setting was gorgeous,” a source told People. “The ceremony was beach casual and intimate, yet very romantic.”

The source continued, “Johnny’s private island is a tropical paradise. Wedding guests were treated to an amazing weekend that ended with a romantic beach ceremony. Guests relaxed on the beaches, had fun snorkeling and enjoyed food cooked by private chefs. Everyone seemed to have the best time. It was a very celebratory vibe.”

Despite Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s affinity for a bit of weirdness, the two of them dressed very traditionally for the ceremony.

Amber Heard wore a white long-sleeved gown with a plunging neckline and back. She accentuated the look with a flowing floor-length veil. Johnny Depp wore a white tuxedo jacket and black pants.

The best man was Johnny Depp’s son, Jack.

This is the first marriage for Amber Heard, and the second for Johnny Depp. He was married to makeup artist Lori Anne Allison from 1983-1985. He ended a 14-year relationship with Vanessa Paradis in 2012.

Johnny and Vanessa had two children together, Jack, 12, and Lily Rose, 15. Guess that makes Amber Heard a step-mom.
