  • Are you worried about your packages being delivered on time or getting lost along the way? Well Amazon may have come up with a solution to those problems and a way to get your packages to you within 30 minutes or less.

Amazon is working on developing several self-guided drones that will deliver orders made on the site. The drone delivery service will be called Prime Air and is still in the research and development stage.

The small drones look similar to spaceships and are capable of delivering packages that weigh up to five pounds. Right now the drones can only deliver packages within a 10 mile radius, but Amazon is hoping that within the next 5 years, they will be able to deliver packages across the country.

The company expects to encounter some obstacles in terms of insurance and security and it is not clear if the service will be available in no-fly zones, but that is a bridge the Amazon developers will have to cross when they get to it.

Until the drones are ready to start delivering packages, Amazon has come up with another solution to get packages to customers faster. They will soon be offering Sunday delivery to large cities. The service will first be available in New York and Los Angeles. It will become available in other large cities in the near future.

Do you think delivery drones are a good idea or are they more of an invasion of privacy instead of a convenience?
