Amanda Seyfried recently got candid about sex and dating in an interview with Elle Magazine and said she’s never dated anyone that she didn’t immediately feel sparks with.
“Everybody I’ve dated I’ve been sexually attracted to immediately,” she said. “Sparks don’t grow—your vagina doesn’t become more inclined to wanting someone just because you’re around them.”
The “Lovelace” star–who has dated Dominic Cooper, Desmond Harris and Ryan Phillippe–also said she’s careful to choose mates who don’t have a problem being her friend should the relationship fizzle.
“We love each other…” she said of Cooper. “He’ll always be in my life regardless of what his girlfriends or future wife think. I’m never going to be with a guy that can’t deal with my friendship with him.”
She did admit that Cooper broke her heart, however, when she found out he was involved with someone else while they were together.
“I got my heart broken pretty hard,” she said. “I was just kind of foolishly thinking that the two of them were done and Dom and I were involved.”
Sex has been on Seyfried’s mind lately as she prepares for the release of her upcoming biopic, “Lovelace”, about ’70s porn star Linda Lovelace. The actress admits she took a big risk with the role but says she knows it will be worth it.
“I read the script and I was like, ‘Wow, this is the riskiest thing that’s happening [in Hollywood] right now,'” she said. “The first thing you think about is that it could have ruined my career. At the same time, I was like, ‘This is my chance to show them, to show the industry, to be recognized.'”
