Allison Williams has done something most women would positively cringe at even thinking of doing. She appeared in a raunchy sex scene on an episode of Girls–knowing full well that her dad, NBC News anchor Brian Williams–would be watching. Brian Williams actually watched the entire episode during the Girls season four premiere at Lincoln Center in New York City earlier in January.

“She’s always been an actress,” the news anchor said in a recent interview. “For us, watching her is the family occupation and everybody has to remember it’s aging, no animals were harmed during the filming, and ideally nobody gets hurt.”

Allison Williams explained to New York Magazine what happened when she realized her character Marnie was going to have sex with Desi (played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach) with her behind in full view of everyone–yes, including her famous dad.

“I read it in the script and I went into total action mode,” the Peter Pan Live! star said. “I got everyone together and I was like, ‘All right, Grace [in wardrobe], you and me — we’re going to come up with something so ingenious that he is going to feel comfortable.'”

The scene asked for Moss-Bachrach to get up close and exceedingly personal with Allison’s bare bum, so she insisted that it “smell like a cake.” Williams actually smeared vanilla cream on her body while production added an invisible garment on the side “that feels like a pillow when he puts his face into it.” She called it, “Total TV magic!”

Allison Williams and her dad apparently fared just fine throughout the season four premiere of Girls. Allison’s costar Jemima Kirke had a terrible time with it, however.

“I was so nervous. I don’t even know him, but can you imagine?” she said. “Watching a kissing scene with my dad next to me is awful, let alone with you getting–whatever that’s called–motorboated in your ass!”

Could you do that if your dad (never mind probably your mom, your brother, and your Great-Aunt Agnes, too) was watching?

Kudos to Allison Williams. Even though she had some help in the props and makeup department, that’s the mark of a fine actress.

On a lighter note, did you see Allison Williams at the Golden Globes? She absolutely stunned in that gorgeous red gown–an elegant throwback to old Hollywood glamour.
