Allison Janney and her Mom co-star, Anna Faris, have been chosen to host this year’s People’s Choice Awards event, and Janney says the people in charge are crazy for picking them.
The film and television star admitted she’s nervous about the hosting role, as it’s one she’s never taken on before.
“We don’t know what we’re doing. We’ve never hosted a show before. I think they’re crazy for having picked us. And we’re going to prove it,” Janney said.
The duo won’t have to look hard for inspiration, however; now on their second season of the CBS sitcom, the women know how to play off one another for laughs and display the sort of chemistry needed to carry a big awards show. The event airs tonight on CBS at nine p.m., with a slew of big stars slated to attend. Besides the long list of nominees for the annual awards, Ben Affleck will be singled out and honored with the People’s Choice Favorite Humanitarian Award.
The nominees for Favorite Movie are:
22 Jump Street
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Guardians of the Galaxy
Maleficent
X-Men: Days of Future Past
