‘All About That Bass’ singer Meghan Trainor has signed on to The Voice. She will serve as a celebrity advisor for the contestants on Blake Shelton’s team in the singing competition. Trainor and Shelton start rehearsals with Team Blake on Monday night’s episode of The Voice.
Meghan Trainor is no stranger to The Voice. Last season she sang her follow up hit to ‘All About That Bass,’ called ‘Lips Are Movin.” She received two Grammy nods for ‘All About That Bass,’ including nominations for both Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
Meghan Trainor once planned to audition for The Voice, but backed out at the last minute.

Trainor is a bit of a change from the celebrity advisors Blake Shelton has had for his team in past years. Aside from Reba McEntire, The Band Perry, and Little Big Town (all advisors one might expect for Blake Shelton’s team), Shelton’s advisors have included Sheryl Crow, Cher, Kelly Clarkson, and Michael Buble. Meghan Trainor will likely be a big hit on The Voice this season–perhaps even drawing in a younger crowd.
Do see foresee ‘All About That Bass’ singer Meghan Trainor serving as a valuable asset on The Voice? Can she help Team Blake once again rise above the teams coached by Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, and Pharrell Williams? Blake Shelton has thus far won more episodes of The Voice than any other coach on the show. Will this be another winning year for the country singer?
Fans are no doubt hoping Meghan Trainor will treat them to a performance of both ‘All About That Bass’ and ‘Lips Are Movin” during her time on the show.
You can watch The Voice on Monday and Tuesday nights on NBC at 8:00 PM ET.
