The rumor is now official. Alexandra Daddario has been cast as one of the Baywatch girls.

Daddario will play Summer in the upcoming big-screen reboot.

The Rock, who is also set to star in the film, announced the news on Instagram.

“IT’S OFFICIAL: Want to welcome the talented and gorgeous @alexannadaddario to the cast of #BAYWATCH for the role of ‘Summer’. Alex is a one of kind woman (I know from experience) and can’t wait for you guys to see her own the role,” he wrote.

We already know the male leads for the big-screen adaptation of the popular TV show – Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Zac Efron.

Seth Gordon of Horrible Bosses fame will direct.

The film will reportedly focus on “a by-the-book and very serious lifeguard (Johnson) who is forced to team up with a young rule-flouting hothead (Efron) in order to save their beach from environmental destruction at the hands of an oil tycoon.”

Ashley Benson (Pretty Little Liars), Nina Dobrev (Vampire Diaries), Alexandra Shipp (Straight Outta Compton), Shelley Hennig (Teen Wolf), Bianca Santos (The Duff), and Denyse Tontz (Big Time Rush) have also been rumored for roles in the film.
