Alex Morgan may have just made her way to the top of the Olympics’ Most Loved Women list with her superb overtime play last night, and Twitter is buzzing about it.
Morgan, who hasn’t been playing as well as expected during the games, blew fans away with a kick that went soaring over Canadian goalie Erin McLeod’s head, earning the U.S. the top position in a 4-3 game and securing a match against Japan later this week.
“I’m still in shock,” Morgan said. “I was saying the whole time, ‘I don’t care who scores as long as someone friggin’ scores and we win.'”
Now that she’s proven her game, Morgan has the social media world talking about her; on Twitter, she’s vying with Lolo Jones for Most Popular in the Olympics Superlatives.
Retweet this if you love Alex Morgan!
