British songstress Adele, whose first album 19 blew up pretty much universally upon its release to the world, is known mostly for her heartbreak. The album was recently revealed to be about her bi-sexual ex, who ran off with another man.

But today she has announced some rare, happy news: she’s expecting her first child with boyfriend Simon Konecki.

“I’m delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together,” the singer, 24, wrote on her website. “I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time.”

Apparently the news broke her site, because it’s been down for a while now. No word yet on how this will affect her songwriting, as we all know it’s hard to write a hit when you’re happy. For now, we can all feel good for the lady, who’s had her share of heartbreak.
