Aaron Hernandez, the former New England Patriot who is accused of murder, is now being investigated for illegal gun trafficking.

The investigation spans several states, including Florida, Massachusetts, and New York, and now Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey has been subpoenaed in relation to the case. Representatives for the team declined comment after he was served on Sunday.

“Organizationally, we do not have a comment,” said Dolphins spokesman Harvey Greene. “And Mike Pouncey does not have a comment.”

Of course, being served doesn’t mean that Pouncey is accused of any wrongdoing, just that the grand jury considers him to be a witness who could help with the case, which is expanding every day. Hernandez is also being investigated for a role he may have played in the 2012 double murder of two men outside a Boston club.

The former football star has pleaded not guilty to a charge of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Odin Lloyd, a former friend. His arrest came in June, after Lloyd’s body was found in an industrial complex near Hernandez’s home in North Attleborough, Massachusetts; he was cut from the New England Patriots not long after. The DA says there is quite a bit of evidence connecting Hernandez to Lloyd’s murder, including bullet casings, surveillance video, and a cell phone that Hernandez reportedly tried to destroy. The motive for the killing is allegedly a dispute that erupted between the two men after Hernandez saw Lloyd talking to someone he didn’t care for inside a club.
