Wahlburgers, the reality TV show about the Wahlberg family restaurant (yes, that’s Wahlberg as in Mark and Donnie Wahlberg) is set to premiere on A&E on January 22nd. In honor of the premiere the business is holding a special event to celebrate the upcoming premiere, as a means of raising money for a Boston organization that benefits local youth. Tickets for the fundraiser sold out almost immediately, much to the dismay of locals.

“It’s all about the Dorchester Youth Collaborative, and the money is going to benefit them, so I’m really happy for them,” Paul Wahlberg, chef and co-owner of Wahlburgers, said in a phone interview with Boston.com. “It’s a program that Mark [Wahlberg] has been affiliated with for a long time. We’re very excited for it, and they were excited as well. It’s a great program, what they do over there is amazing.”

A teaser shows Wahlberg and Wahlburgers fans what they’re in for once the show premieres.

If you’re not among those lucky folks who scored a ticket to Wahlburgers for the Wahlburgers premiere, you’ll simply have to have your own premiere bash at home. Unfortunately you won’t be surrounded by celebrities, but you’ll still catch a front row view of the show.

I’ve eaten there. Food is good and is the only place will eat onion rings. The burgers are juicy without being greasy. Plus the government cheese brings back memories of the ’70s.
