UNC Asheville Leads Syracuse At Halftime 34-30By: Jeremy Muncy - March 15, 2012
Can this be the day we see a No. 16 seed upset a No. 1 seed? It could be as the UNC Asheville Bulldogs are leading the Syracuse Orange 34-30. It should be noted this is only the sixth time that a No. 16 seed has been leading a No. 1 seed at the half.
At the end of the half there was a little controversy as there was a layup attempt at the end of the shot clock. We’ve included an image of it below so you can see that the ball is still in the Syracuse players hand as the shot clock hit zero.
It’ll be interesting to see how the rest of this game plays out, no pun intended. Will UNC Asheville be able to keep their furious pace up? Will Syracuse finally wake up? It is March and anything can happen folks.

Below is some Twitter reaction to the surprising halftime score:
Sarah Palin picked UNC-Asheville to beat Syracuse, proving the theory that only the truly insane & uninformed can correctly pick a bracket.
In an office somewhere you know some guy is talking trash about how he picked UNC-Asheville to win (on his 11th bracket)
