Tyrese and the late Paul Walker were more than just fellow actors, sharing a set for the many Fast & Furious films. The two were a tight pair in real life too.
Since the tragic passing of Walker, Tyrese along with his other friends and family have kept to themselves, taking the much-needed time to mourn the loss of the late 40-year-old actor.
Monday night, The Arsenio Hall Show welcomed Tyrese as their guest, discussing Walker's passing and how his recent trip to Dubai saved him
"It was a lot of shock and trauma for his family and all of us involved," Tyrese said. "I've never been depressed in my life but I was very sad and down and it took a minute for me to shake it."
Tyrese continued, "I just turned 35 and I'm on a spiritual level. I've got this thing where I send and God sends me e-mails about what to do, where to go, who to communicate and connect with and he sent me an e-mail to go to Dubai."
Tyrese vacationed with actor and friend Will Smith. "Dubai was great. I found my smile again in Dubai."
So what's next for the actor? While it seems Tyrese has finally found some hope, the newly 35-year-old has turned to writing to share life lessons with his family, friends and followers in his first book, How to Get Out of Your own Way.
The book is organized in a series of questions that have helped him, "redefine who he was as a human being, and evolve into a new man." The book was written to help individual find their true selves.
"It's not about talking down to people, it's about elevating them," Tyrese says.
