Best Buy Mobile said today it will install Google mobile applications in the smartphones it sells at its retail outlets.
Best Buy Mobile employees will install Google Mobile App on all compatible smartphones through its "Walk Out Working" program which is a free in-store smartphone setup.
Google will announce this additional method of getting Google Mobile App on its Mobile Blog and provide more information on a new Google and Best Buy Mobile website scheduled to launch on November 9.
Google has launched Google Analytics for Mobile Apps. The reports that are available as a result of last week's expansion of mobile reporting features are now available for mobile apps as well.
According to AdMob, which claims it is the world's largest mobile advertising platform, mobile web and application use has doubled over the past two years. In September, the firm received over 100 million ad requests from 14 countries, and over 10 million ad requests from 64 countries.
AdMob released its Mobile Metrics report for September, which highlights the rapid growth in usage of mobile web sites and apps on new devices in the past year.
Google's Android announced that it will soon introduce new features in Android Market for Android 1.6, which will improve user experience. For one, developers will be able to post screenshots and descriptions (as well as icons), to showcase their apps.

Samsung Electronics announced today it will launch a new app store for its smartphone users on September 14.
The app store will open in the U.K., France and Italy, with more than 30 countries including Germany and Spain to follow. Initially the store will be focused on users of Omnia and I8910 HD devices and later expand to other models.
Users will be able to browse a variety of applications including games, references, social networking, e-books and health related tools.
Salesforce announced today that its CRM mobile application has been updated to take advantage of the new iPhone 3.0 OS software. The 3.0 OS update became available today (and has sparked quite a bit of conversation).

Saving Money on the iPhone Upgrade
The AP launched an update to its AP Mobile app for the iPhone and iPod Touch today, which is now available in the Apple App Store. This is an update based on user feedback from a soft launch of version 2.0 last week.
"In the next release we will ensure that the update process is seamless, story scrolling is much more smooth, the edit button on the More screen is reinstated and that you do not lose any personally stored information," Benjamin Mosse said on the AP Mobile Blog after that launch.
