Online retail spending for the 2010 holiday season reached $32.6 billion, representing  an increase of 12 percent compared to last year and an all-time record, according to the latest report from comScore.

eBay Mobile Sales Up 146 Percent On Cyber Monday

eBay said today U.S. mobile commerce sales increased 146 percent year over year on Cyber Monday.

The company said mobile shopping peaked between 5pm and 7 pm PST. eBay said because of the growth in mobile holiday shopping it expects to generate more than $1.5 billion in gross merchandise volume in 2010, compared to $600 million in 2009.

Online Holiday Sales Top $13 Billion

Online holiday spending for the first 29 days of the season has reached $13.55 billion, representing a 13 percent increase over the same time period last year, according to the latest report from comScore.

Cyber Monday reached $1.028 billion in online spending, up 16 percent versus year ago, representing the heaviest online spending day in history and the first to surpass the billion-dollar threshold.

Cyber Monday Sales Jump 19 Percent

U.S. online retail sales on Cyber Monday were up 19.4 percent over the same period last year, with the average order up from $180.03 to $194.89 for an increase of 8.3 percent, according to a new report from IBM’s Coremetrics.

Compared to Black Friday, Cyber Monday online sales were up 31.1 percent with the average order up from $190.80 to $194.89 for an increase of 2.1 percent.

Cyber Monday Attracting More Than 100 Million Americans

More than 106.9 million Americans plan to shop online today during Cyber Monday, up significantly from the 96.5 million who shopped on the same day last year, according to a new survey by Bigresearch conducted for Shop.org.

A survey released last week found that nearly nine in ten (88.2%) retailers will have a special promotion for Cyber Monday, growing each year since 2007, when 72.2 percent planned promotions.

Cyber Monday Sales Reach $887 Million

Cyber Monday sales were up 5 percent compared to a year ago reaching $887 million and matching the heaviest online spending day on record, December 9, 2008, according to the latest report from comScore.

"We’ve seen an encouraging start to the online holiday shopping season and it would appear that retailers’ aggressive and early marketing efforts have so far succeeded in persuading consumers to open their wallets online," said comScore chairman Gian Fulgoni.

Online Retailers See Strong Cyber Monday Sales

U.S. online retailers reported strong holiday sales results on Cyber Monday (Nov.30) 2009 compared to the same period last year, according to a new report from Coremetrics.

Cyber Monday sales were up 24.1 percent compared to Black Friday 2009.  Consumers spent more per online order ($180.03 versus $170.19 for an increase of 5.8 %) compared to Black Friday.

It’s no secret that the economy hasn’t been good this year, but today’s Cyber Monday, and if you’re planning on doing some shopping online, Google wants to help.  Individuals who pay for things using Google Checkout may be able to save as much as $20 per purchase thanks to a new promotion.

A post on the Official Google Blog urged readers this morning to "save with exclusive discounts of $5, $10 or $20 at hundreds of participating stores, including TigerDirect.com, BlueNile.com and Petco.com."

Amazon’s Kindle Breaks Sales Record in November

Amazon announced that its Kindle device, an electronic reader, has broken its record for sales in a single month, during November. This information does not even take into account Cyber Monday, which is today.

The company says that the Kindle is the most "wished" for, the most "gifted," and the number one best-selling product across all product categories on Amazon.com.

Online holiday spending continues to be the one bright spot in the woeful economy, according to a new report from comScore.

For the holiday season through December 7, $15.63 billion has been spent online, about the same level compared to the same period last year. During the first week since Cyber Monday (December 1-December 7), sales totaled $4.45 billion, up 7 percent over a year ago.
