What Adobe Scene7 Update Means for Marketers and Developers

Adobe’s mobile plans are not just about Flash. The company announced an upgrade to its Scene7 offering, which has implications for both marketers and mobile developers. 

Scene7 is a rich media service that lets retailers create an online catalog with video and 3D modeling (among other things). The new version includes support for mobile sites and apps, and provides expanded offerings for delivering content across mobile devices including iPhone, BlackBerry, and Android.

Adobe Releases HTML5 Pack for Illustrator CS5

Adobe has launched an HTML5 Pack for Illustrator CS5. The pack provides initial support for HTML5 and CSS3, and extends the scalable vector graphics (SVG) capability in Illustrator itself.  The company says the pack makes it easier to design, deliver and optimize compelling content for mobile devices and the web.

"By delivering this extension and supporting open standards, Adobe helps developers, publishers and designers to make their own choices about how to create, distribute and access content," a representative for Adobe tells WebProNews.

Adobe to Acquire Day Software for $240 Million

Adobe announced today that it has entered an agreement to acquire Day Software, a content management software company. Adobe has launched a public tender offer to acquire all of the publicly held registered shares of the company for about $240 million.
