Back in the 90's, No Doubt pretty much ruled everything. Gwen Stefani was the hottest chick in the business, the band kept pumping out hits, and they were making money hand over fist. While they weren't without their problems--Stefani and bassist Tony Kanal were once lovers who endured a harsh breakup--they managed to work through the worst of it to become one of the hottest bands ever.
And then, suddenly, everything changed.
It could have been that Stefani was moving in a different direction--she put out a successful solo album and created her own high-end fashion line, for starters--or it could have been that the world had simply had enough of that sound. Whatever the cause, No Doubt sort of slipped off the radar for a while. Until, that is, they showed up at the Teen Choice Awards last night on Fox and debuted a song off their new album Push And Shove. While I'm not overly fond of the song, it was sort of nice to see the band bouncing around on stage together again, proving they haven't lost their chemistry over the years despite marriage, kids, and a waning audience.
