Nina Dobrev as Elena on the Vampire Diaries will soon be a thing of the past for fans of the popular CW series.
For Nina, it's coming more quickly.
The 26 year-old actress has been busy saying goodbye to cast mates and the crew of the popular show for days now. But none were more touching than her sweet farewell Monday on Instagram to co-star Paul Wesley, who plays Stefan..
For six seasons, Nina Dobrev and Wesley, 32 have been thrilling fans of the show with their relationship ups and downs.
A seventh season is coming, but Dobrev chose to leave the show, along with Michael Trevino, who plays Tyler Lockwood.
"Elena fell in love not once, but twice, with two epic soulmates, and I myself made some of the best friends I'll ever know and built an extended family I will love forever," Dobrev wrote earlier this month on Instagram when announcing her departure.
Wesley replied to Nina Dobrev's post on Monday with a broken-heart emoji.
“I feel like a blow fish, so puffy and bloated from crying all day. Tears of joy&sadness. Bittersweet. So many memories. What a fun ride [sic]…” she wrote on her Instagram alongside a photo with co-stars Kat Graham and Candice Accola.
She posted another photo elaborating on just how difficult it is to leave the Vampire Diaries.
“Ok. Officially a mess. No hiding it anymore,” she wrote alongside another shot with the girls. “Today has been a day filled with farewells.. I still have 2 more days of shooting before I wrap TVD. But it's officially a wrap on Caroline&Elena&Bonnie. Finished filming with these two beautiful, funny, sweet, sassy, amazingly talented and lovely ladies.... @candiceaccola @katgrahampics. Love you with all my heart and soul forever and always... #TVDFamily [sic].”
Nina Dobrev's last episode will be aired May 14.
