Hawaii News Now tells us of a scorched 1997 Toyota 4Runner found in rural Hawaii on Wednesday, while the search continues for the pregnant owner of the vehicle.

Carly “Charli” Scott has been reported missing since Monday. While her dog passenger has been found in a nearby community, it seems as if the woman has disappeared without a trace.

The believed father of the child, ex-boyfriend Steven Capobianco, is apparently the last person who has seen Carly Scott– he understands why he is probably the prime suspect.

Scott picked up Capobianco on Sunday night and drove him to an adjacent city in the rural Upcountry Maui so that he could fix his truck. Scott followed him back from Keanae later, both on their way back to Haiku, but Capobianco reportedly lost sight of Scott’s vehicle.

Capobianco told a Hawaii news station that he sent her a “thank you” text with no response, but received a visit from the police in the following pre-dawn hours.

Capobianco was administered a lie-detector test, which he failed, and was thoroughly questioned by the police– but no arrests have been made nor any suspects named. The search party has reported “possible evidence,” but authorities are requesting that the information be kept vague until further investigation. Police are requesting any searchers to refrain from touching or moving any clues they may discover.

A party of over 30 people -a blend of family members, authorities and volunteers- are a part of the search team, as well as growing help via the internet:

Besides Carly Scott’s ex-boyfriend seeing her that night, the 5’10, 160 lb., red-haired pregnant woman with green eyes was last seen at her sister’s home in Haiku, a city in northeast Maui.

Anyone with information that could assist with Carly “Charli” Scott’s search should contact Detective Wendell Loo at (808) 270-6516 during business hours or (808) 268-2763 after hours.

I bet my bottom dollar that the real truth is with the ex-on and off boyfriend. He said she was driving behind him and then just disappeared. Strange that he did not check to make sure that was the case. He did something to her and burned the car. He did not know if the child she’s carrying is his or not. Strange and the truth will come out soon.

Or he knows it’s his kid and didn’t want to be responsible for it

This isn’t a totally unfamiliar scenario: Guy wants out of the role and responsibility of being a father. Get rid of her and the baby.

This one will not take a rocket scientist to figure it out. EXbf mabey baby daddy has her drive him to a remote location to fix his car and then she disappears. Her vehicle is found burnt. I doubt that was just some accident. Funny how it is always the last person to see someone alive.

    She was sacrificed to Kamehameha.

    • D D

No. she was sacrificed to Mount Killemboth by the BF

A burned truck, a weak alibi and failed lie detector tests. Article notes both had cell phones. If her cell phone was on, even while not on a call it sends a “ping” signal regularly so the cell service knows where to send any calls. If his cell was on, the same thing applies… Unless the BF is smarter than he appears, this should not take long.

wont take long before the truth comes out – at a minimum he’s a jerk for not making sure she was safe (if he didnt do it) – if he did it, wont take long to see him locked up. just hope for her famlies sake they find her (preferably alive) but if she’s dead, the killer should get two life sentences for killing her and the baby.

usually a father who doesn’t want the baby nor the mother

I’d take Steven Capobianco, tie him to a tree and beat the sh*t out of him and then tell him, I’m going to unleash 10,000 fire ants on his a$$ if he doesn’t fess up where she is and what he did…..and I’d follow through. It’s pretty obvious what’s going on here.

How much you wanna bet, this guy killed her because she was pregnant, and he didn’t want to pay child support, but he probably frequently protests at abortion clinics and types anti-abortion stuff online.

The ex is cut from the same cloth as Scott Peterson. It’s pretty clear that he killed her. He’s an idiot if he thinks he will get away with this. Pregnant women are rarely the targets of random criminals, and she had a dog with her that would have deterred a stranger. Taking responsibility for his child would have been a far better life than the one he will have in prison.
