  • Thanks to Frozen voice actress Kristen Bell, what started as another day of radiation therapy ended with probably one of the best moments of little Avery Huffman’s life.

Huffman is a 6-year-old girl diagnosed with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma), an inoperable brain tumor which has caused her a lot of suffering at a very young age.

Bell learned of Huffman’s story through a friend of her father’s and decided to give the young Frozen fan a special gift: to be an honorary princess of the kingdom of “Arendelle”.

Brandon Huffman, Avery’s dad, emphasized his daughter’s fondness of the Disney animated movie. “Like roughly 93% of all little girls in the United States, Avery loved the movie Frozen,” he wrote. He also shared that both he and his daughter had watched or heard Frozen over 200 times and had sung duets to songs from the movie like “Love is an Open Door.”

Disguised as Frozen’s Anna, Bell delivered the young Frozen fan a heartfelt voice message. In her message, Bell included special details about Huffman such as her favorite toy and the names of each of her siblings.

Huffman was especially thrilled when Anna bestowed upon her the title of honorary princess of Arendelle, the kingdom ruled by Queen Elsa.

The proclamation, according to Bell, was a reward for Huffman being “brave” and being the “good girl” that she is.

Bell’s gesture was met with high praise and gratitude, especially from Huffman’s father.

“Despite being incredibly busy, Kristen Bell took the time to make a little 6-year old girl’s day. It was awesome for Avery and us, and emotional for us as well,” said Mr. Huffman.
