On Saturday, November 15, it was announced that Kendall Jenner has been chosen as the new face of Estée Lauder, the iconic cosmetics company. Kendall revealed the news on her Instagram with the message, “I am super excited to announce that I am the new face of @esteelauder!” Kendall was reportedly tapped by the company because of her ability to bridge “the worlds of high fashion, entertainment and social media”. Kendall has been making a name for herself as a model, and this deal with Estée just makes a new phase in the 19-year-old’s career.

Kendall made the announcement just two weeks after celebrating her 19th birthday. According to Vogue.com, Kendall has been keeping the announcement a secret since she got the news after a Sonia Rykiel show during Paris Fashion Week. As the new face of Estée Lauder, Kendall is expected to appear in magazine print ads and TV commercials that will be seen all over the world.

Estée Lauder has released the first official video for the campaign on their website. The video shows clips from Kendall’s childhood while she talks about how honored she is to have been chosen for this promotional campaign. “The first time that I wore makeup, I was little girl and my mom was filming me," she says. “And I'm like, 'Mom, I did my makeup, do you like it?”

“I just want to be the best me I can be," Kendall also says in the video. "So having the power that social media does, I think just seeing how many people care about you and seeing how many people, like, want to watch what you're doing, it just makes you really want to do the best you can do.”

Kendall’s star as a model has been rising consistently. Just this year, Kendall walked runways for various major designers including Givency, Dolce and Gabbana, and Chanel.
