Florida State University's freshmen quarterback is currently being investigated for a sexual assault case filed with the Tallahassee Police Department back on December 7th, 2012. This 11-month-old case reopened Wednesday when TMZ claimed that Winston "is indeed the suspect," even though the official TPD report describes the perpetrator as 5'11'', compared to Winston's 6'4" frame.
Winston's attorney confirmed with the Tallahassee Democrat that he is representing Jameis in this investigation, although he says this case has been "basically closed" since February and no one is sure why it's been reopened. Could it be that the 19-year-old athlete is now ranked #2 in country for passing efficiency and is the frontrunner for the Heisman trophy? It seems it was only a matter of time before the media began digging around for dirt on this emerging star. Jameis supporters have already taken to twitter to call out TMZ on their lack of factual evidence:
The suspect in that police report is between 5-9 and 5-11 and 240 pounds. Jameis Winston is listed at 6-4, 235. Good job, TMZ.

Despite the claim, no official charges have been filed. The FSU Athletic Department was forced to release an official statement earlier clarifying that "there is no change in Winston's status" on the team following the allegations. It looks like Winston will be throwing completions for Florida State for a long time coming.
