  1. here, one Windows OS is very expensive, but there was WINDOWS 2000 / XP that was called a class.Chrome OS is open but is waited by the Windows– a lot of things to do.

  2. It sounds wonderful….

You have this Linux based OS that is ‘Cloud” based,no hardrives, dvdrom drives, etc to be concerned with….BUT…

    First ‘The Cloud”:

call me paranoid,if you like, but everything that is going with consumer electronics,DLNA.Cloud, etc,is moving us to become more “internet dependent.” which is the design of those behind it all.

Are we willing to give up our control and give it over to somebody else?If I sound like I’m echoeing George Orwell’s 1984,or such like…so be it!

    Aside from all that…

from the photos,it looks just like the Linux Appliances that came out some ago.In fact,as I see it,that’s all it really is.

The Notebook part is just the browser, the OS is probably burned into ROM and the rest is on The Cloud.

It may appeal to some, but as an I.T. Professional,Network Admin, by trade,I want complete control over what I’m dealing with!

Besides,as has previously been said, none of us have any good reason to trust Google.Afterall, they axed people’s Adsense accounts for ‘invalid clicks”,”gave some Websites “The Google Slap”…so…they can keep it!

  3. OK. So the idea and concepts are brilliant, however as an IT professional this is an incredibly dangerous move. I give it 30 at best before someone turns Chrome OS into the first COS bot net. Just because you can do it, doesn’t mean you should.

And no one else sees how much control users will be giving up? This… as brilliant as it is…. is a bad – BAD idea

  4. Google is hoping that businesses will switch to this? Would a business admin be able to configure the cloud to connect to the business server instead of Google’s? I can see some privacy benefits (peeps lees likely to steal files) but still I can see some serious hesitation for businesses to switch to this type of computing model. The 8 DAY battery use is amazing though.

In theory, it should get more and more useful to businesses as time goes on, feedback is taken, etc. Keep in mind, Chrome OS isn’t even available yet outside of the pilot program.
