On Friday actress Eva Mendes gave birth to a baby girl in Los Angeles, according to Us Weekly. She and her boyfriend, actor Ryan Gosling, had kept the pregnancy under wraps despite rumors circulating that they were indeed expecting a child.
Mendes and Gosling are reportedly thrilled to have the baby with them and both shed tears when they met her for the first time, according to an insider that spoke to E! News. “It was very emotional for Eva and Ryan. They were both in tears when they saw their daughter for the first time!” the source said.
"She's so good with kids and has been wanting this a really long time. When she found out she was having a girl, she was freaking out. She kind of wanted a girl deep down, but of course just wants a happy and healthy baby! Ryan is saying he is going to be overpowered with girls in the house and is gonna have to be extra manly around the house!" added the insider.

Mendes and Gosling were extremely private about the pregnancy, and the 40-year-old star of Hitch even denied that she was pregnant on Ellen in February, when she was already a few weeks along. “It all started because I didn't want to go through the scanners at the airport,” she said on the show. She explained at the time that she would always opt out of that part of security checks. However, in July, rumors centered on her pregnancy swirled again.
Sources tell E! News that the new mother keeps telling friends and family “how in love she is” with her daughter, and many are saying the baby has Mendes’ features, according to a source.
“They are both so happy and in love. They wanted to start a family for a while now," said the source of Mendes and Gosling, who have been dating since 2011.
