Demi Lovato is a former Disney Channel star, but she's not as sweet and innocent as she looks.

The "Cool For The Summer" singer said in a recent interview with Cosmopolitan that she thinks she's one of only a few female singers who isn't afraid to be an actual badass, rather than just dressing the part.

“There are a lot of girls in pop. They have badass lyrics, but I feel like I’m the only person other than Rihanna and Nicki Minaj who isn’t afraid to say, ‘Try something on me and I’ll f–king beat your ass.’ There are people who can dress up and play the part, but their music doesn’t say it," Demi said.

Lovato later told Ryan Seacrest that she feels like she's the only pop artist who isn't afraid to truly speak her mind.

I’m totally that, but in pop music. Not that they’re not pop music, but it’s just kind of a different world.”

Demi Lovato didn't include Iggy Azalea in her comments, but she did speak recently about her close friendship with the Australian rapper and revealed that she will "definitely" be working with her soon.

Lovato doesn't just have a working relationship with Iggy; she's actually going to be a bridesmaid in Azalea's wedding. Demi says she doesn't know yet which song the duo will work on together, but that it will happen.

"She's one of my closest friends and it would be an honor to have her on my album. I'm trying to figure out which song right now, actually, to put her on, but it will definitely happen," Lovato said.

Demi hasn't released too many other details about her upcoming project, but her new single "Cool For The Summer" has risen up the charts and has taken place of pride on her Instagram account.
