Climate Change: It Can Affect Travel Costs Too

For years experts have been warning about the devastating effects of climate change. While these same experts warned that climate change was happening now, most people weren’t afraid of the consequences because they didn’t expect them to start happening so soon.

A recent study shows that climate change could affect food production and raise food prices. The study said that by 2050, the prices of many vegetables, fruits and grains could be much higher than what they are now.

Another recent report on climate change is showing that it could affect transportation and the cost of travel as well.

According to the study, transportation could be both a cause and a casualty of climate change.

“The transport sector relies overwhelmingly on oil,” Angie Farrag-Thibault, a BSR associate director and a lead author of the report, said in a statement Monday. “Without action, greenhouse gas emissions from transportation will continue to rise. Fortunately, this report points to a large number of options for reducing emissions.”

The report says that climate change will affect all types of transportation, including planes, trains, ships and automobiles.

If the transportation industry cannot reduce and control their emissions, the price of travel will go up significantly.

Experts say that the best way to cut back on emissions is to cut back on travel in general. Walking, biking and public transportation are just a few ways people can help reduce travel emissions.

“One key change in terms of the way people around the world live is in city design,” one expert said. “A shift in city design that causes more densely populated cities and hence more use of public transport is a really key way to create a better quality of life and lower carbon emissions per person.”

“Dense cities have a much smaller carbon footprint than sprawling ones because of the modes of transport they require. Focusing on making transportation more energy efficient and encouraging people to use modes of transport that emit less carbon dioxide is nearly as important as addressing the carbon emissions of the electric power sector,” the expert added.

Do you think climate change will cause transportation costs to rise?

FACT: Human activity does not cause or affect climate change.

Relentless is the onslaught of climate scare tactics. The great hoax says is will cause rapes to increase, increased violence, and now vacationing is more expensive. If these hoaxers weren’t so dangerous this would be hysterically funny.

Senate Democrats prove climate deniers wrong again. Majority leader Harry Reid called the meeting to order as 28 of the 114 senators from all 57 states attended the all night session. After a brisk pillow fight senator Reid reminded members that wedges were not allowed since the Barney Frank incident a few years ago. Several members could be seen visibly shaken and sobbing at this unfortunate flashback. Soon things took a lighter tone as Sarah Palins children became the topic of every joke. Someone mentioned that if it was not for global warming and the ocean rise that Sarah could walk to Russia from her house. At this time Senator Hank Johnson reminded all that he saved Guam from tipping over in the ocean , he was not sure which one, but it was deep. And wet. Newly elected Senator from New Jersey , Cory Booker, arrived late. He said he was stuck on some bridge all day in Jersey but was able to bring photos of his very first car travelogue. He awed members as he relived his tour of all 57 states including Hawaii before the ocean rise. Some of his photos were blurry and he explained it was because he used Cruz control , at that time thanking and acknowledging the absent Senator from Texas. Ex Senator ,now Secretary, John Kerry sent his regards and says he has proof of global warming as the cold war is hot again. It was a long night and everyone was assured that numbers are very important and should be used when explaining climate change. Along with the letters “GHG” and the word “Vortex”. The senators also listed reasons for those not believing everything they say: Idiots, flat earthers, deranged, non-scientific, Christians , Fox news, Sarah Palin , and plantation jumpers, headed the list. The members voted into the record that 120% of all scientist agreed that man made “the global warming issue”. After hearing about this Kim Jung-Un immediately updated his winning margin to 120% . Members soon began to fall asleep when someone asked “has anyone seen Barack lately? “What is Lois Lerner hiding?” ,“ Who made up the story about the video?” When the senators woke , it was spring time and the climate changed proving them right. The people rejoiced and sought out the democratic party. A new holiday was created called “Political Science day” . It was a good day and the people were glad to give them all their money.. Dennis Rodman wept.
