  1. Find what’s unique about you and give them what they want. It’s formula that can’t fail.

  2. Such great words. Yes, so many autoblogs out there with no direction, or a real plan other than to flood sites with free content, slap some ads, and thats it… probably 1% of those have long term success, not to mention Google kicking their rankings into touch. I agree, must be a strategy formed from a solid plan that targets a niche audience, something to offer, a reason to have great visitor retention from the word go. Give people what they want by connecting with their needs – is my motto. Otherwise, as a marketer, I would be in the wrong game.

  3. Hi all. Ads times finished more years ago. Now only salesmans read ads to find opportunity to sale some things to ads writer. Ads writers dont sell anythings but they get more SPAM every day in them inbox.

  4. Hi Chris,

I agree with your take on authenticity and Seth’s. Just like offline, we have this ‘public persona’ or the side of us we share with our acquaintances, business colleagues, friends, and even family.

It’s still us but not ‘all’ of us. Instead of not being transparent or authentic it is more of judicious ‘editing’ or ‘filtering’ out those ideas we have, which we know others do not want us to share or need to know. It even expresses respect for the sensibilities of others.

Like with our marketing, we market or interact differently with our fans, loyal customers than we do with prospective customers. The latter would encourage us to reveal more, while the others are like ‘hey don’t come too strong’ or don’t pour it too heavily please, I don’t know you yet.”

  5. How true! Authenticity is important but so is a strategy for existing. I hope that more marketers will heed the advice you gave here. There is no special formula. To stand out online, marketers must provide engaging, solid content that address the needs of their target audience.
