Zooey Deschanel all but confirmed rumors about her relationship with producer Jacob Pechenik with PDA over the weekend. The New Girl star was seen with Pechenik going on an early morning hike, followed by brunch at the Sweetsalt restaurant in Toluca Cake, Calif. on Saturday. Before driving off after the brunch, photographers caught the duo in an embrace, sharing a sweet kiss on the lips.
Earlier this month, eyewitnesses also spotted the Emmy-nominated actress getting cozy with Pechenik, who is producing her next film Rock the Kasbah, at Café Aroma in Studio City, Calif. This first sparked the rumors of a budding romantic relationship between the two.
E! News reported that the eyewitness thought the twosome was “definitely acting like a couple.”

The source continued to say that “She was smiling and laughing at the things he was saying” and “when they got up to leave, he put his arm around her and they walked out together.”
Their public display of affection by the beach a few days later was also caught on cam, where they were spotted holding hands and kissing.
Deschanel and Pechenik apparently clicked on the set of the comedy film Rock the Kasbah which Pechenik is producing with Steve Bing and Bill Block. Its cast includes Bruce Willis, Kate Hudson, Scott Caan and Bill Murray along with Deschanel. The comedy film is scheduled to be released in April 2015.
Deschanel was married to former Death Cab for Cutie vocalist and guitarist Ben Gibbard in 2009 until their divorce in 2012. Following their divorce, she dated screenwriter Jamie Linden –who wrote We are Marshall starring Matthew McConaughey– until they announced their break-up earlier this summer.
Deschanel is also half of the musical duo She and Him where she does vocals, piano and ukulele. She and her guitarist M. Ward recently left indie label Merge Records, with whom they were with since 2006, and had signed up with major label Columbia Records. They are reportedly working on their 5th album, Classics, which will be released later this year.
