Zendaya Coleman, simply known as Zendaya, is quickly becoming a household name.
At the young age of 17, the actress and singer has already starred in the Disney Channel show Shake It Up from 2010 to 2013, was a contestant on Dancing With The Stars, wrote the book Between U and Me: How to Rock Your Tween Years with Style and Confidence, released her debut album titled Zendaya, and already has a name for her fans – Zswaggers.
Since the release of her debut album Zendaya has been traveling the country performing, among others, her hit song “Replay.” On December 17 she performed at the AMP Radio’s Toys For Teens event in Universal City, California. Before that she performed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 29 at the RiverRink Opening Event.
The former Disney Channel star has also partnered with Colgate Optic White and their #BrilliantSmile campaign and is even asking followers to tweet photos of their “brilliant smile.”

Recently Joe Jonas, another former Disney star, made some comments about the pressures and expectations of working for the Disney Channel. In his tell-all Jonas said, “Being a part of the Disney thing for so long will make you not want to be this perfect little puppet forever. Eventually, I hit a limit and thought, Screw all this, I’m just going to show people who I am. I think that happened to a lot of us. Disney kids are spunky in some way, and I think that’s why Disney hires them. ‘Look, he jumped up on the table!’ Five, six, ten years later, they’re like, ‘Oh! What do we do?’ Come on, guys. You did this to yourselves.”
Like many other Disney stars, Zendaya didn’t agree with Jonas’ statements and took to her official Twitter to talk about it.
I admire @joejonas and his honesty…so real and brave…but that's his journey, not mine…don't worry about me #igotthis
