Yelp announced a new line-up for its Small Business Advisory Council. The company put a call out to business owners back in June seeking volunteers, which it said should be Yelp aficionados who wish to act as representatives for business owners around the world and share insights with Yelp execs.
Much of the council is made up of people who have already been involved, but there are fifteen new members as well.
Yelp says the council members will represent other small businesses by heading to San Francisco to share insights and ideas with Yelp executives as well as joining monthly conference calls to discuss things Yelp is doing that impact business owners.
The company will supposedly use the ideas it gets from these representatives to “streamline products, programs, and policies and generally make Yelp better” for business owners.
“We love working with the small business community, and the YSBAC is one of several ways that we do this,” the company says in a blog post. “We also offer free educational webinars, workshops with our Business Outreach team, and tips via our Blog for Business Owners. We’re excited to continue our efforts and develop new ways to help you close the loop with consumers.”
