It’s finally here, the trailer for the movie being released by Disney which looks to tell the story of a disgruntled arcade game villain – Wreck-It Ralph. The trailer shows off a good amount, enough to give us a gist of the story and shows off some of the cameos we can expect to see in the movie. Bowser, M. Bison, Dr. Robotnik, Zangief, Blinky, Q-Bert all look to be guaranteed inclusions. Also, the villain to the left of the zombie looks like he could be a Kano rip-off from Mortal Kombat.
Overall, the trailer looks impressive. I really liked the design of the arcade machine, showing that someone really did their due diligence looking at the classic arcade boxes from the 80’s. The voice talent; John C. Reilly, Jane Lynch, and Sarah Silverman, really look like good choices as well.
There have already been complaints that both Dr. Robotnik and Bowser weren’t from arcade titles. This isn’t entirely true, during the arcade days all sorts of home console games had arcade counterparts floating around. Many of these were compilation machines.
