The big surprise out of today’s Google Fiber announcement was Google Fiber TV. This is a major step for Google as they enter into the world of not only ISP, but TV provider as well. Kansas City residents can sign up for Google Fiber TV plus 1Gbps Internet for a low $120 a month.

A TV service is only as good as the channels it offers though. What can Google Fiber TV subscribers expect to see once the service launches in September? A helpful redditor has posted the entire channel list in a thread on Google Fiber. It’s a pretty impressive list, but there are some pretty big omissions.

Google Fiber TV

Most redditors seem to be disappointing over the lack of AMC and Cartoon Network. Other big channels missing include TNT and FX. It thankfully has The Hub so at least one crisis has been averted.

Of course, this all a work in progress. Google will be adding more channels as they are able to secure more partnerships. I’m sure a few of the channels owned by large ISPs are unwilling to hand things over to Google because they’re directly competing with them. The omission of Cartoon Network, which is owned by Time Warner, supports that scenario.
