Wayne Knight, probably best known for his character ‘Newman’ on the television comedy series Seinfeld, is not dead!
Rumors started circulating early Sunday morning that the actor had passed away in an accident near the New York-Pennsylvania border. When the news started to spread, Knight became the number one trending topic on Google. Thankfully, the rumors were NOT true, and Knight took to Twitter to confirm that he was alive and well with a series of tweets.
“Some of you will be glad to hear this, others strangely disappointed, but….I am alive and well!” he wrote. “Does someone have to DIE to trend? Geez! Thanks for all the love everybody. I didn’t know you cared. Glad to be breathing!” Knight later added.
Knight then took a moment to acknowledge the woman who actually died in the accident that spurred the rumors. “Regrets to my friends and family who were shocked this morning and the family of the woman who actually died in my “supposed” accident,” the tweet read. “Thanks to the small town of new followers who came onboard just to tell me they’re glad I didn’t kick! I feel good about the result as well.”
