Washington D.C. Buzzing Over UFO Reports

The residents of Washington D.C. started blowing up Twitter last night over what they thought was a UFO being hauled by an 18 wheeler. Turns out he people were freaking out on Twitter over nothing. What they actually saw was Northrop Grumman’s X-47B drone. The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) has a very similar look, but on a much smaller scale, to the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber.

The reports started rolling in with photos on Twitter last night. The military UAV’s are more than likely on their way to the Pax River Naval Station to practice carrier landings on the runway that is painted like a carrier deck. The hope is to have the X-47B mission ready soon. As soon as the tests are done at Pax River, they will try to land on a real carrier.

Reports have actually been coming in from around the country as the flatbed made it across the heartland. The local news in D.C. finally picked up on it and made sure people knew that it wasn’t a UFO.

Plus, like Twitter user @MarkDice said, “MORONS! If a UFO was strapped to the back of a flatbed, they would at least COVER IT UP!! #Drone thought to be UFO in DC.” Pretty much exactly what I was thinking. They would at least put a blue tarp over the top of it. People amaze me sometimes.
