Wango Tango, the ten-year-old music festival, hit Los Angeles last night and marked the official start to summer. The 12 hour music festival was held at the StubHub Center in Carson, California, and was home for the night to huge acts like Maroon 5, Paramore, Ed Sheeran, Shakira, and so many more.

The first big performance of the day was Great Big World and Christina Aquilera’s “Say Something.” The pregnant singer was late to the stage, finally coming out a whopping five minutes after she was introduced (prompting some awkward banter from the band to fill time). However, Christina was stunning when she finally arrived, showing off her baby bump in a tight black dress and kicking off her heels for a powerhouse performance of “Say Something.”

The ladies were definitely representing at Wango Tango, with sets from Adriana Grande, Iggy Azeala, and Shakira. However the most energetic lady of the night was definitely Hayley Williams of Paramore, who bounced around the stage and even pulled up one lucky fan from the crowd to sing along with their hit “Misery Business.” “How many of you have never been to a Paramore show before?” Hayley asked the Wango Tango crowd. Hayley added, “Welcome to the family,” and, “you’re in, and you’re never getting out!”

The biggest act of the night was Maroon 5, blonde Adam Levine and all. Fans unhappy with Adam’s new look took advantage of Wango’s jumbo Twitter screen with hashtags that included: “#QuestionableDecisions #EyebrowsDontMatch #WhyAreYouBlond?” Regardless, Adam and his band played a lengthy set of their biggest hits; the band also reminisced about playing the first Wango Tango back in 2004. “Half of you weren’t alive,” Levine joked, “so welcome.”

As the sun went down, Wango devoted itself to a few EDM artists, including Calvin Harris, Zedd, and Tiesto, while the enthusiastic crowd eagerly waved green glowsticks. Seems like the all day party closed on a high note, as tired concert-goers still found the energy to turn the arena into a dance party. Wango Tango 2014 seemed like it was a blast – now we’ll wait till next summer for a new one!
