A 12-minute video leak of the HTC One (M8) successor was posted by Youtuber Roshan Jamkatel Sunday and the user has since taken it down, though not before other users could post the video.
The Taiwanese manufacturer set a release date of March 25, but the video reveals details about the upcoming version of the Android device, and includes the phone’s IMEI number. Jamkatel narrates in the video, which shows the existing and new models side by side. While the internal specifications are not mentioned, Jamkatel claims the HTC M8 handset has all-metal side enclosures, onscreen navigation buttons built into the updated Sense 6.0 UI and a new microSD slot.
Other highlights of the newer model include a larger screen, new camera software, which features a dual-navigation option to take front and back photos at the same time, and a new Selfie mode.
According to Techradar.com, HTC’s Senior Global Communications Manager, Jeff Gordon, commented directly to Jamtakel via Twitter about the video leak.
“It’s not going to be a good week for you, my friend,” Gordon reportedly tweeted, and added, “we have the IMEI and all other info. We’ll be in touch.” The posts have since been removed.
