Victoria Siegel, one of the stars of Queen of Versailles was just 18 when she was found dead in her family’s Florida home this weekend. Now a family representative shares she had long battled an addiction to prescription medication.
“The Siegel family is devastated and heartbroken by the loss of their beloved Victoria, age 18. They are hurt, deeply wounded and they are grieving. Victoria was a beautiful spirit with a wonderful smile who was greatly loved, and will be deeply missed. Victoria had a history of seizures and was prescribed medication for this condition,” family spokesman Michael Marder’s statement reads. “Unfortunately she became dependent and struggled with this condition. She voluntarily underwent rehabilitation and was working hard to address this problem.”
The statement went on to explain that her family was away at a wedding when Victoria Siegel was found by their housekeeper around 2:00 on Saturday afternoon.

“While an autopsy has been performed the cause of death has not been determined. It is likely that Victoria ingested one or more drugs prior to her death, however, we cannot determine at this time whether or not the drugs she took were in fact prescribed medication, something else, or where and how these drugs may have been obtained,” he continued.
The statement adds that the investigation into Victoria Siegel’s untimely death is ongoing and that the family is still awaiting the results of a toxicology report.
“The family is deeply appreciative of the outpouring of support that they have received and request that their privacy be respected while they mourn their loss,” his statement concluded.

Victoria Siegel’s billionaire parents attempted to build “the biggest house in America,” featuring 13 bedrooms, a movie theater, bowling alley, arcade and roller-skating rink–but the building process was plagued by financial setbacks stemming from the 2009 economic crisis. The home was never completed. The hit film, Queen of Versailles, was based upon the building of this home.
