Update: Quiksee has confirmed the acquisition. The company says on its blog:

We are delighted to announce that Quiksee has been acquired by Google!

We’ve learned a lot from our previous work at Quiksee, and we look forward to bringing our  experience, creativity and insight to Google. Both Google and Quiksee share the same innovative  vision, and while we can’t share any future product plans, we look forward to the opportunity to  contribute and do great things together in the future.

Financial terms were still not confirmed.

Original Article: According to Israeli newspaper Haaretz, Google is buying Quiksee for an estimated $10 million. We’ll have to keep this one filed under rumors for the time being, as neither company has confirmed the acquisition.

Quiksee’s focus is on creating location-based interactive videos. "Our team consists of web and media savvy entrepreneurs with lots of experience and tons of enthusiasm," the company says on its about page. "Our vision is to fill the world maps with Quiksee tours that will let people virtually travel across the planet as if they were there."

Haaretz reports: "Two investment groups have put $3.5 million into Quiksee, Ofer Hi-Tech and Docor International, while a number of private investment ‘angels’ have also backed the firm."

According to the publication, Quiksee is also known as MentorWave Technologies.

This would be Google’s second Israeli acquisition this year. The company purchased LabPixies in April.
