UFOs are sighted all around the world and usually only seen by one or two people at a time. On rare occasions, mass sightings of UFOs can occur and when this happens, it’s hard to convince the masses that they are seeing things.

A recent flurry of UFO sightings in California has confused and piqued the curiosity of many. Several California residents reported seeing strange lights that they called UFOs floating or flying around the night skies over the last few evenings.

One witness described the lights saying, “I seen like six bright orange colored lights. They were almost like a diamond or triangle shape. It was weird. And so they started just separating.”

The sightings came just a few days after a crop circle was discovered in Salinas, California, which makes many UFO enthusiasts even more convinced that the lights are related to UFOs or are UFOs themselves.

According to a team of scientists at the San Jose State University and the NASA Ames Research Center, the lights could be a sign that an earthquake is about to strike the area. Scientists have been studying the unexplained lights for several years and have found that they often appear along faults a few days before an earthquake occurs.

Earthquake lights have been documented as far back as the 1600’s and although they can’t always predict an earthquake, they can be considered a warning.

According to scientists, the lights occur when a seismic wave hits a level of rock that is capable of generating electric charges. When the charges travel together they reach a plasma state and explode out of the ground and into the sky where they appear as lights.
Although the lights may not explain the recent UFO sightings, researchers have found that mass UFO sightings often occur at the same time as seismic activity.

Do you think the recent California UFO sightings could be earthquake lights?
