Twitter announced the launch of a new (apparently annual) mobile developer conference called Twitter Flight. The news comes days after the company introduced a new buy button, which will enable users to purchase items directly from tweets.
The event will take place on October 22nd at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. Twitter says it will highlight the “latest on how Twitter can help you build the best mobile apps.” It continues:
Flight is a gathering built by developers, for developers. You’ll be right at home if you live, breathe and occasionally dream in Java, Objective-C or Swift. Following the morning keynote by our CEO Dick Costolo, we’ll dive into a series of technical sessions and cap off the day with a great happy hour where you can meet and mingle with some of our engineers.
You can apply to go here. There’s a registration fee of $140.
The company also announced the roll-out of a revamped developer site.
“We’ve reorganized all of the content so that it’s easier for you to navigate and get your questions answered,” explains Twitter’s eff Sandquist. “All of the old discussions have been migrated to our new discussion forum; you can reclaim your old posts by logging in with your Twitter account. We’ll be adding a lot more features to the site over the coming weeks.”
