Twitter is rolling out a new update to its Android and iOS apps with new photo features for tagging people and including up to four pics in a single tweet.
The tagging feature is quite frankly long overdue. How long has Facebook had that? Like forever? Anyhow, with the update, you can tag up to ten people on one photo, so you’re looking at the potential of forty people in one tweet.
“Tagging people in a picture makes conversations around photos fun and easy,” says Twitter’s César Puerta. “And tagging doesn’t affect character count in the Tweet — you can tag up to 10 people in a photo and still have all 140 characters at your disposal, making it easier to connect with your friends.”
Don’t worry. Users have control over who can tag them You can adjust this in your settings. If someone tags you, you’ll get a notification, though you can adjust that too.
“And now, you can also share a series of photos that automatically create a collage,” says Puerta. “Just tap on a preview to get the full image and slide through the group. The ability to upload multiple photos is starting to roll out today on iPhone, and is coming soon to Android and twitter.com. Whether you’re on iPhone, Android or twitter.com, you can view Tweets with multiple photos.”
We can easily see brands taking advantage of the multiple photo feature.
Photo tags and Tweets with multiple photos are both compatible with Twitter’s embeddable tweets feature.
