Twitter announced today that effective immediately you will find a Connect Tab in the Twitter mobile app. Twitter says that they will look at who you alread follow, tweets you like, popular accounts in your local area, current news and more in order to give you the best possible suggestions on accounts to follow.

The Connect Tab also gives you the capability to sync your address book so that if someone you have listed joins Twitter you will be alerted. It’s rolling out to all accounts today, just update your app and you’ll see a little blue prompt introducing the Connect tab once available for you.
