The governator is no longer in office and is now free to get back to doing what he has always done best. Give us movie after movie of tough guy funny that he can. It was announced today that a deal was being worked out to bring a sequel to the 1988 hit “Twins” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Devito. The Third film would be titled “Triplets” and would star Eddie Murphy as the long lost third triplet.
As of press time the film does not currently have either a director or even a script. SO even if a script was written and approved we won’t see this movie until at least 2014. Ivan Reitman, who helmed the original, would only act as a producer for the film.
The original “Twins” was widely popular and had an opening weekend of $11 million dollars. Worldwide it earned a total of $216 million. By todays standards that is ok, but in 1988 it was a massive success. Arnold Schwarzenegger went on to star in such huge hits as Total Recall, Kindergarten Cop, and Terminator2. He also won 2 elections to become the Governor of the State of California. Danny Devito went on from Twins to star in Batman Returns, Matilda, and the cult comedy “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. A “Twins” sequel is being made with Schwarzenegger, DeVito and Eddie Murphy. Time to board the spaceships and start anew elsewhere.
