Tumblr announced a new update for its Android app, complete with improved notifications, photo sharing, zoom, image loading, post screens, and more.

The blog notifications are now clearer, Tumblr says, adding, "Now you can see exactly which post was liked, reblogged, or commented on."

Photo sharing is faster, enabling you to quickly choose from the last 40 shots on your phone. You can also now pinch and spread to zoom in on photos. No word on when Tumblr's Photoset app (launched recently for iOS) will come to Android.

Images in general now load faster on the Dashboard. Post screens have been redesigned and rebuilt for faster posting.

System notifications for post uploads have been added to let users know when something posts successfully or fails to upload.

The updated version is available in the Google Play store.
