  • If you saw Sunday’s Cowboys/Broncos game, or even just the highlights from it, you know that Dallas QB Tony Romo had a great game that was killed by a damning interception late in the fourth quarter (the defense that gave up 51 points didn’t help either). This is something that Denver QB Peyton Manning was almost certain to make him pay for. And he did.

Now, of course, there is no shortage of “Tony Romo Chokes” headlines (fair or not):

    Tony Romo Chokes

This was only the latest of a few moments that Romo would probably like to have back. Yes, the man had a spectacular game, and common sense would dictate that the loss was really anybody’s fault but his. But still, what happened happened, and it’s only going to add to the “choke moments” compilation for those keeping track.

At this point (again, whether it’s fair or not), Romo is likely going to have the word “choke” associated with his name for the rest of sports history, unless he starts winning some Super Bowls.

    Tony Romo Chokes

All you have to do is search Google for “tony romo chokes,” and there are seemingly endless results talking about whether or not he is a “choke artist”. Even if you don’t think he deserves the title, the fact that the conversation has happened many, many times is indisputable.

While performing that particular search, just out of curiosity about what they’re saying about Sunday’s game, I couldn’t help but notice a result from Urban Dictionary ranking fairly highly in the Google results. This led to the revelation that Tony Romo has a whopping fourteen listings on the site. For comparison, legendary linebacker Dick Butkus has three.

Among the Romo listings, you’ll see:

Tony Romo (born April 21, 1980, in San Diego, California) is the current starting quarterback for the National Football League’s Dallas Cowboys. He took over for Drew Bledsoe in week 8 of 2006 season.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t have near the upvotes of the top-ranked definition, which was posted all the way back in 2007:

    To drop something
    To mess up horribly
To make the biggest f*** up of your life
    To be overrated…

If you wade through the rest of them, be prepared for a lot of NSFW language and homophobic ramblings.

At least Tony can take comfort knowing that he probably has a much better life than everyone who contributed to his Urban Dictionary listings.
