“Crazy, Sexy, Cool: The TLC Story”, a movie about 90’s smash girl R&B group, TLC, premieres tonight on VH1 at 9/8pm Central. The movie reveals the group’s ups and downs, trials and elations, as well as what they went through and how they held it together after their bandmate Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes died suddenly in a car accident on April 25, 2002 in La Ceiba, Honduras. She was the driver of the vehicle when she rolled off the road and was thrown out; she died from her injuries.

According to Access Hollywood, there was only one scene that Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas couldn’t bear to see being filmed. “When we shot the funeral scene for Lisa, we didn’t go on set because we didn’t want to relive that,” Chilli told Access Hollywood on Monday.

The girls mentioned that they would probably still be making records together today, if Lopes was still around. When asked, Chilli said, “Yes, I think so. I think she just had — honestly we never ever had a problem with her wanting to do solo stuff. We all have our own things that we want to individually, but it doesn’t mean that the group is no more.”

T-Boz said she believes many people, especially musicians can learn a few lessons from this biopic. “I think the most important thing is that we learned from all of our mistakes and you grow and that’s what made us the women we are today,” T-Boz said. “You don’t like everything you go through in life, but I’m proud of who I am, she’s proud of who she is. We grew up together, we went through death, children, divorce, so outside of the music business, I think people can learn from [Chilli’s] personal situation, my personal situation, there’s everybody goin’ thru something and especially the message to the musicians — learn from what we went through.”
