The Tia & Tamera reality series initially started out as just a television special, which was originally titled Tia & Tamera Take 2. The television special aired July 17, 2010 on the former Style Network.
The television series allowed fans to look into the personal lives of the famous twins as they juggled careers, marriage and motherhood.
However, fans soon discovered a shocking, yet interesting detail about the two – opposition. The show revealed the vast differences between the twins’ personalities, which actually served as a gravitational pull to keep fans interested.

The success of the television special led to a reality television spin-off that ended up being coined simply Tia & Tamera. The reality show debuted on August 8, 2011.
Due to exceptionally high ratings, the Style Network immediately renewed the show for a second season in September 2011, just one month after the series premiere. A third season was announced in February of 2013, and premiered on July 14, 2013.
The show’s third and final season ended September 22, 2013. Tia & Tamera was actually the last television series to air on the Style Network before it was rebranded as the Esquire Network the very next day.
The Sister, Sister stars expressed that their decision to part with reality TV was due to their desire to live their lives outside of the spotlight. Although they may be walking away from reality TV, all isn’t lost as they’ll still be in the spotlight. However, it won’t be for reality TV.
Tia Mowry-Hardrict is currently starring on the new NickMoms show Instant Mom, while Tamera is a permanent panelist on the talk show The Real.
