It’s only a small snippet, but it really feels like we’re returning to the kind of Star Wars film we haven’t seen since Return of the Jedi. Of course, you might wonder what the creator of Star Wars – George Lucas – thinks of the trailer. As it turns out, he hasn’t seen it and he says he won’t watch it.

Wait, George Lucas won’t watch the trailer to see if Star Wars is in good hands? I mean, I would want to know if the person taking over my life’s work was paying proper tribute to it. He told the NY Post that he wasn’t really interested in seeing what the Star Trek director would do with Star Wars. It’s hard to tell if Lucas is either disinterested or if he just feels that this is Abram’s film. If it’s the latter, he may feel that what he says won’t matter as it’s now in the hands of somebody else.

If it was his movie, it may have ended up like this:

Thankfully, we’re getting something a little more subtle:

All joking aside, we’ll find out what Lucas thinks of The Force Awakens when the film hits theaters on December 18 next year.
