The whole idea of Star Wars Episode VII is certainly one of controversy, as fans of the old trilogy simply feel that the series has already been ruined with the prequels. As the film has been continually delayed for various reasons, a release date has finally been set for December 18, 2015, while the originally plan was for the film to be released in the summer of 2015.
The issue of the casting for Star Wars Episode VII has been one of discussion for some time, and recently the original scriptwriter, Michael Arndt, exited the project. This allowed for J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan to step in and take over the script. The news should excite fans of the old trilogy, since Kasdan previously worked on The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of The Jedi.

In addition to the script-writing duties that Abrams recently picked up, he was also brought on as the director of the film when it was first announced, and is listed as one of the producers. Abrams is previously responsible for the successful reboot of Star Trek, and is known to TV fans for his work on Lost and Alias. John Williams has signed on again to score the film, and rumors have been swilling around about which of the original cast members will return, and the new faces that we will see.

As many fans of the Star Wars franchise know, the film is being presented by Disney, who recently bought out Lucasfilm. Alan Horn, a chairman for Walt Disney studios, mentioned in a statement on the film’s website, “We’re very excited to share the official 2015 release date for Star Wars: Episode VII, where it will not only anchor the popular holiday film-going season but also ensure our extraordinary film-making team has the time needed to deliver a sensational picture.”
Star Wars Episode VII has already provided a mixture of emotions for fans of the previous films, since they certainly want more, but not if they are going to suck as many argue Star Wars episodes I-II did. A blooper for the original film were also released recently, and while it first surfaced in July, it did not become available to the public until the end of October.
