Sony has released an update to their original Google TV devices, according to the official Google TV Twitter stream. The new update improves the performance of Google TV’s Chrome browser and adds 3D Blu-ray playback capability.
Sony has been alone in the world of Google TV since LG discontinued their own line of Google TV devices. Several of Sony’s competitors, however, debuted Google TV compatible devices during this year’s CES earlier this month.
Those with Sony Google TV devices – whether set-top box or TV – should be prompted to install the update when they turn their device on. If not, however, a manual update can be performed from the device’s system menu.
